8 months old

Today Corinne turned 8 month’s old. This past month we started progressing her diet a bit. We started giving her Cheerios so that she could practice her pincher grasp and it is also nice to give her something she can feed herself while we are eating. She struggled a bit with her first attempts to eat the Cheerios. Her technique involved grabbing a Cheerio in the palm of her hand, making a fist, putting her whole fist in her mouth, then opening her hand and pulling it out of her mouth. Unfortunately, the Cheerio usually came out with her hand. She eventually got the hang of it and now she goes through a handful of those little O’s in no time. She also started using a sippy cup on her own and eating bits of fruit that aren’t pureed. Corinne has been having little disturbances in her sleep again so as we suspected we noticed that another tooth is starting to come in. Cynde still reads to Corinne most afternoons and every night. Currently her favorite story is “There’s a Wocket in my Pocket”. There is one part of the story with a long list of words that rhyme and she always looks up at Cynde when she is reading that part and smiles and giggles. It seems that she is even starting to remember that part is coming up so she starts to giggle in anticipation. We still go for a walk most nights before Corinne goes to bed. Now that the weather has been getting cooler we were able to get some use out of some Corinne’s cute fall clothes as seen in the pictures below.

Even more fun

Every so often I think to myself that Corinne is probably at the best age right then, but a month goes by and we are having even more fun. Everybody tells us how much more difficult things are going to be once Corinne can crawl and walk so we are trying to enjoy every moment as she becomes more mobile each day. Up until recently, when we put her in the crib for a nap we would return to find her pretty much in the same spot. Now we see her on the monitor rolling onto her side or her tummy, turning sideways, sticking her legs between the rails, turning on her music and light machine, and reaching up to get a toy that is attached to the crib. Sometimes I sneak into the nursery in the dark and just flip her back onto her back and then run out and watch her looking around on the monitor trying to figure out who the heck did that. She seems to be getting a lot closer to crawling now too. She can prop herself up pretty good but just hasn’t gotten the legs in on the act quite yet. Since it has been a while since I posted anything here is some bonus pictures to make up for the lost time.If you look closely at the 4th picture you can see those 2 little teeth on the bottom.
