9 months old

Last Saturday was Corinne’s 9 months old birthday so I had better get you caught up on all the latest developments. The official tooth count is now at six (4 on top and 2 on the bottom). She is very, very close to crawling but she has managed to do a little creeping and rolling to get around in the meantime. She is also able to hold herself up for a little while holding on to the side of the playpen or an ottoman. We have tried out a whole bunch of new foods this month and everything has gone over pretty well but it seems like Cheerios are still her favorite. The cold that I reported about a week or so ago turned into an ear infection and she still has a little bit of a cough and runny nose. Late last month there were some reports that Corinne had said da-da but it wasn’t until earlier this month that I heard it for the first time. Now she says it all the time but still not quite as much as ma-ma. Some of the fun stuff that Corinne did this past month included the trip to Mexico, going to her first Phillies playoff game, going to her friend Madison’s birthday party, and going at her friend Cameron’s beach house. I already posted several pictures from Mexico so below is a picture from each of these other events.

The photo credit on this one goes to our friend Dinko. Madison was nice enough to share some of her birthday gifts with Corinne but Corinne seemed pretty content chewing on what appears to be an envelope.

My buddy Tim described it as a cage match when we put Corinne and Cameron in the playpen together but they were both pretty well behaved… for the most part.

Corinne’s first cold

Last Sunday, the day after we got back from Mexico Corinne started sneezing, then a few coughs here and there, and by Monday she had a full blown cold. I don’t mind the runny nose and the trails of boogies she gets on me so much but that barking cough makes me feel so bad for her. I usually try and post pictures related to the topic I am writing about but instead of putting up a picture of my cutie with a sore little nose this is a picture of one of our last days in Mexico when Corinne was practicing her crawling.

Corinne gets a much needed vacation

Last Saturday we arrived back from Corinne’s first trip outside the country. Corinne did surprisingly well on the airplane although she did get a little fussy at the end of each flight. She spent most of her time kicking around in her boat and splashing around in the pool. She also got to meet some of her great uncles from Illinois for the first time and spend some quality time with Cynde’s immediate family. While we were away Corinne had several more teeth start to come in and she is getting even closer to being able to crawl.

One of the restaurants at the resort had a mechanical bull. This is a picture of Corinne giving her “hang loose” hand gesture just after she finished a full ride.

Corinne had only been in a pool a few times before this trip and she had mixed feelings but she was all smiles during the vacation. She had a blast splashing around and she even practiced swimming a little by kicking her feet.
